Settlement Type: Large Town Population 3456 Gold Piece Limit 3000gp
This market town is located in central Beria, at the crossing point of the roads from Dragonstone, Fivebridges, Easthaven and Trollbridge. It is home to the famed Halls of Addumar, an arcane college that takes on only 6 new students a year, but of whom great things can be expected at the end of their 5 years training.
The town lacks for a wall, but does possess a central keep where Lord Ornoth Blackspring maintains the apparatus of government. Adventurers are common in the town, signing on as caravan guards along the trade routes, and also using it as a base to explore the ruins and towers found on the Plains of Plenty.
The largest inn in Blacksprings is found on the western side of town, not far from the grounds of Goldbolt Manor, and is known as the Welcoming Harper. A large, single story timber framed building, it is has many stained glass windows set along its walls, and a large well built cellar. Its owner, the dwarf Frorer is renowned for telling some of the finest tales in all of Blacksprings, and is known to have a soft spot for adventurers. However, he has a less than cordial relationship with the Berian Adventurer's Guild charter in Blackspring, but neither party is open to explaining why.

This is the first stage of a map for Blacksprings. Currently there is no keep on yet, and some of the major roads need to link up a little better. Can I please have feedback on likes and dislikes and wants for the map.

For me there are several things it may need. The lower class districts may need their buildings moving closer together as they should be densely packed. Another thing is it needs a central market plac (essentially the heart of the town).
But it looks like a pretty damned fine start to me!

right made some modification to the buildings. first picture is what it looks like second is commentary on areas. AS to your point about buildings closer together, I will struggle with that due to the mapping style I am using. so what I have tried to do is represent by size of buildings and the amount of open space. small building close together are poor, big with open spaces rich. Is that ok?

I have done some work on this but something does not sit right with me (I think it is the style) . I am going to have another go in a different style and see how that turns out and then you guys can decide which you like best.

I have redone the map of Blackspring and I am a lot happier with this version. I have stuck to the basic map you gave me but the rule of thumb is that where there are lots of alleys they are the poorer houses, where there is poor houses and big buildings, the big buildings are warehouses. Basically east, south east and south of the city. North and Northwest of the market place is the rich and really rich area. Castle and government buildings can be found on the Northeast of the town. I would like to make a version of this map with key places marked on it. (key to use anyway) Can you please come up with some and highlight locations (save image into paint and then mark it with an x, the upload picture to forum again). Again C&C welcome and any changes you want/need let me know.

Bloody hell! Are you looking for a job as a cartographer at Wizards? That really is an excellent map and I can really see it being of immense use. There are no two ways about it, in my mind that really is superior to the first map (which was pretty damned good I thought!), so a massive thanks to you mate.

There we go, some locations added to the map. Hopefully you can read them! There are some that we have visited, and some that we haven't. Hope they help? Attachments:
