The Queshtarii are a collection of tribes that inhabit the eastern regions of Pashdun. They have small settlements based around oasis within the Pashdun. The primary export is Qesh, a hallucinogenic drug, sold in bricks of dried fibers from the roots of the plant. The tribes are ruled by semi-hereditary chieftans. The Queshtarii have some of few horses on the planet that can stand camels, and routinely field armies with both. Strangely pure blooded Queshtarii cannot wield arcane magic, including from scrolls or wands, ect. This along with the lack of any viable economy in the desert, lead to frequent raids by the tribes into civilized lands that border on the Pashdun both to steal food, and to gain the services of those with arcane abilities. The Queshtarii will pay virtually any sum for slaves that have arcane training. Queshtarii armies are composed of lightly armoured raiders equipped with javalins, spears, and composite short bows and mounted on horses and camels.
Normally strangers are not allowed through tribal lands without significant “gifts” and the sands are stained with the blood of those who thought they had not been detected. But if one shows arcane gifts and no foul intentions they are welcomed. It is for this reason that Queshtar has a significant amount of wizard towers, or just wizards living in ancient ruins, ect, as there are few around to hinder their research and tests. These wizards are a significant source of coin to the tribes as few wizards will take time out of their experiments to collect supplies, reagents or test subjects. It is said that if one has the coin and knowledge of location that one could find a wizard capable of binding transmuting spells to one’s flesh permanently.
The Queshtarii are monotheistic worshiping only the god Akran and his avatar magno solis, the great sun. It is said that long ago many were their gods until the great chieftan, Hortan was blessed with a vision of Akran standing alone above mortals. He poured his favor into the Akrany cult, eventually outlawing all others and taking the name Akratan. His wars of faith with the other tribes lasted a score of years and left countless dead including the priests of the other cults.
Comments are welcome
Out of context, can a section of the forum be set up for the continent east of Celenor as both Delos and Queshtar are on that continent.
